Are you ready to elevate your career and become a recognised Maintenance Planner? Our new Occupational Certificate in Maintenance Planning is QCTO-approved and designed to give you the practical skills and theoretical knowledge you need to excel in any production environment, be it a mine or plant.
Why Maintenance Planning Matters
Maintenance Planners are critical in keeping production lines running smoothly. By effectively scheduling maintenance tasks, they minimise downtime, optimise resources, and enhance overall plant reliability. In today’s competitive industrial landscape, a well-trained Maintenance Planner is critical for ensuring operational efficiency and cost savings.
Course Structure
1. Three Core Courses
- C301 Maintenance Planning: Gain a solid foundation in planning and scheduling routine preventive maintenance activities.
- C303 Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS): Learn to use industry-leading software solutions for Asset Management, tracking maintenance activities and generating performance reports.
- S813 Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA): Develop in-depth problem-solving skills to pinpoint the root causes of equipment failures and recommend long-term solutions.
All three courses include industry-based case studies and assignments that require you to apply your new skills directly in your organisation. This real-world focus ensures you gain practical experience that you can use from day one. If you want more details, please click on each course name.
2. Work Experience Modules & Final Exam
Alongside the coursework, you will complete work experience modules that give you hands-on training in a real industrial environment. These modules ensure that by the time you’ve finished the qualification, you are fully capable of performing the tasks required of a Maintenance Planner. In many cases, these modules can also help learners secure opportunities within their companies or other organisations looking for in-house expertise.
Upon completion of the work experience modules, you will be eligible to write the final integrated exam administered by the QCTO. Successful candidates will have their names entered into the QCTO’s national database as qualified Maintenance Planners.
